Fleet Europe Summit 2021: it’s a wrap!

This year’s 2021 edition of the Fleet Europe Summit focused on looking to future: “Ready for change, building tomorrow”.

As one of the 70 sponsors of the event, we were delighted to reconnect with our clients and partners in person this past 9 and 10 November after over a year of virtual events and meetings! Although we thoroughly enjoyed seeing those who were able to attend in person, not everyone was able to join us in Belgium and the teams at Fleet Europe made sure they didn’t miss out by providing virtual access as well.

This hybrid combination allowed for an event record in participation throughout the 2 days, with 814 participants in-person and 273 participants virtually. Welcome to the new normal!

This year’s program revolved around 4 key themes that are at the core of the transformation of our industry:

  • Sustainability

  • Post-COVID-19 fleet management

  • Corporate Mobility

  • Innovation & Technology

Our take on the future of mobility: highlights from our panels

We participated in 2 panels during this year’s event:

  • Successfully step into the uncharted territory of electrification

As part of #FleetEuropeSummit 2021, our experts Raphaële Chénière, Product & Innovation Manager, Amélie de Valroger, Head of Business Intelligence & Consultancy, and Thierry Faure, Head of Sales & Client Relations International Key Accounts, led a panel showcasing the exciting new electrification resources that we’ve co-designed with clients, to help fleet managers master the unknown territory ahead.

If you missed it, here are the 4 key takeaways to keep in mind:

  • Electrification is more than just ordering an EV: the switch to EVs entails a change in driver habits we seek to facilitate through the development of charging solutions and change management support.

  • No one-size-fits-all solution: there is a need for a consultancy approach to undertake driver profiling and assess market readiness, notably through our Mobility Guide 2021.

  • We provide a complete solution for fleet managers to budget their forecasted TCO through our Green Scorecard app and our Mobility Policy Designer, simplifying their mobility policy drafting.

  • We keep improving our ALD Electric solution with the help of our clients, and the very positive testimonials we are receiving are the real KPI's we are looking at!

  • Executive Leasing Panel: Building tomorrow’s fleet and mobility

Building tomorrow’s fleet and mobility ecosystem was the main topic of this year’s executive leasing panel at Fleet Europe Summit 2021. Our CEO Tim Albertsen was joined by Arval CEO Alain Van Groenendael and Alphabet CEO Marco Lessacher to discuss issues affecting the leasing industry, both today and tomorrow.

Topics included microchip shortage, the need for flexible solutions, electrification and emissions reduction, the rise of digitalization and the unlikelihood of imminent full autonomy...

Pedaling for a good cause: supporting 101 Fund

During Fleet Europe, we also organized a bicycle battle at our booth, in which volunteers had to cycle to “charge up” a maximum number of Watts. The efforts were made for a good cause, as we committed to converting the Watts accumulated throughout the day into a donation to 101 Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering intensive care and saving lives worldwide.

Thanks to pedaling time from our participants, we were able to donate 14 660 € to the foundation, supporting their 3-part data-driven program that aims to save 1 million lives within 4 years, across 66 countries.

We are proud to be able to continue to support 101 Fund, which we began as part of our global ALD Solidarity Plan in 2020 during the pandemic.

See you next year in Dublin, 16 & 17 November 2022!
