International Women’s Day 2021

International Women’s Day 2021

As part of our new strategic plan Move 2025, we confirm our commitment as a responsible employer to provide a diverse and inclusive environment where our employees can thrive and develop. Gender equality is at the heart of this commitment which is why we were proud to support International Women’s Day on the 8 March 2021 and organized through several initiatives throughout the week to help raise awareness.

Empowered employees at the heart of our business model

Our employees around the world were invited to attend a round table session this past week, hosted by Pao-Leng Damy, Group HR Director, dedicated to gender equality. This was an opportunity to discuss how diversity and inclusion are fundamental aspects of our strategic development and essential in creating a positive, engaging and learning experience for all. She was also joined by international senior leaders who shared their personal experience on managing gender diversity as leaders, as well as employees.

Is mobility a male-dominated industry?

Group HR Director, Pao-Leng Damy, also provided insight into gender equality in the mobility industry and at ALD Automotive by addressing whether the mobility sector is a male-dominated industry,  if it is difficult to find qualified female employees to take on leadership roles within the company and if gender equality just a buzz word at ALD Automotive?

#ALDChooseToChallenge

This year’s theme of International Women’s Day was “Choose To Challenge” to focus on individual responsibility and the ability to ‘call out’ gender bias and inequity in everyday situations. We invited our employees to join this challenge by raising their right hand against gender bias and share their pictures on our internal social network. The response was phenomenal with hundreds of pictures!

At ALD Automotive, we believe that we can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Individually and collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. Not only one day in the year, but every day.

#IDW is simply a call to action for accelerating equality everyday so don’t forget to keep on challenging!
